What is the iFred Field of Hope?

A sunflower field planted to raise money for iFred, the International Foundation for Research and Education on Depression (www.depression.org). A field of hope, with big, beautiful sunflowers the color yellow representing joy and happiness. A true symbol of what survivors can feel once conquering a depressive episode.

For a small donation, you can have a seed planted for someone you know and watch as it grows into a beautiful yellow field full of sunflowers, the field of hope. It will serve as a reminder that every little thing you do, even something small, when joined together with others can be big and bright and beautiful when loved and nurtured.

This year we are planting our field in Ghana, Africa, and sharing how depression affects this country. It is a devastating disease, the leading disability worldwide, and has no cultural boundaries. Unfortunately, the stigma of depression in Ghana is so bad that human rights violations are part of treatment.
